Agent skills

Productivity skills

Matt Pocock’s workflow skills for stress-testing a plan, handing work to another agent, teaching, and writing docs agents can follow.

Skills

Who it’s for. People using an agent for planning, handoff, teaching, or writing docs for other agents. These are workflow skills, not code-framework skills.

What it is

A useful starting point—not another unexplained bookmark.

This folder is a set of small skills for how you work with an agent, not for a language or framework. Some run only when you type them. Two can also be reached when your wording matches their trigger. Each one has a different user.

You type these

They wait until you ask.

The folder marks these as user-invoked. In Claude Code that means the model does not start them on its own. In Codex the same idea is an implicit-invocation policy. Use the name when you want that behavior.

  • For a planner

    grill-me

You have a plan or design and want to be interviewed until the open branches are resolved. Use it before implementation, not as a substitute for a decision you are avoiding.

  • For the next agent

    handoff

You are leaving this conversation. The skill compacts it into a document another agent can pick up.

  • For a learner

    teach

You want a concept taught over more than one session, using the current folder as the teaching workspace.

  • For the person who knows

    to-questionnaire

You cannot answer the decision alone. The skill turns it into a Markdown questionnaire for the person who can, async or in a meeting.

  • For a confused reader

    wait-what

The last message did not land. You fire this immediately so the agent re-pitches it in plain language, using a glossary if you have one.

The model may reach these

Same jobs, with trigger phrases.

  • For a plan review

    grilling

The interview skill again, written so the model can start it when you ask to stress-test a plan, decision, or idea, or when you use a grill phrase.

  • For skill authors

    writing-for-agents

You are creating or editing a skill, AGENTS.md, or CLAUDE.md. The reader is an agent, so the writing has to be something an agent can follow from a pointer.

Useful for

When to use it

  • Stress-testing a plan before anyone builds it
  • Passing a conversation to a fresh agent
  • Turning a stuck decision into questions for the right person

What you will find

Inside the resource

  • Five skills you invoke yourself
  • Two skills the model may also reach
  • A distinct user for each skill
  • Links to the skill files

Quick start

How I would use it

  1. 01

Pick the person the skill serves

A planner, the next agent, a learner, the colleague who can decide, a confused reader, or an author of agent docs. One skill, one of those users.

  2. 02

    Type the user-invoked name

grill-me, handoff, teach, to-questionnaire, and wait-what stay quiet until you ask. Do not expect them to start from a vague chat.

  3. 03

Use grilling only for a real decision

If you want the model to notice a stress-test request, grilling is the one written for that. It is the same kind of interview as grill-me.

  4. 04

Read the skill file in the repo

This page names the user and the job. The instructions live in each SKILL.md.
